Highlights
Ștefan Ene received the top national prize for his project Code Sinaia 2020, connecting Romanian-American teens passionate about coding to their peers in Romania. As a teaching assistant and coordinator, he helped plan and deliver an international summer school program spanning the US West Coast to South Africa.
Ana Ilinca Hagiu volunteered at the Romanian School in WA since 2019, helping children connect to their heritage. During the pandemic, she organized a virtual piano recital bridging her two cultures.
Nicole Sandu led a book club for children from the Romanian community in Chicago, helping youth connect to their Romanian roots and culture.
Andra Marinescu volunteered at ARCS projects including the Romanian Center of Excellence and the Taste of Romania festival, immersing herself in Romanian culture and passing on her knowledge to younger children.
Larissa Sâmbotin helped a friend in Romania learn English while deepening her own understanding of Romanian culture, with plans to expand the project to more children.
